How the Admissions Process Works

Before you apply for your child’s school place at Leighfield for September 2022, please make sure that your child is the right age – meaning they were born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 inclusive.

If you apply online or using a paper form, you will be asked to pick three schools in order of preference.

One of these schools should be your catchment school, although it does not have to be your top choice.

The closing date for primary school applications in England is 15 January 2022.

You will then find out whether your child has a place with us on 18 April 2022.

If you wish to apply for a place at Leighfield but live in Northamptonshire or Lincolnshire, then you should use the admissions process for the county where you live, not where you would like to go to school.

In practice this means that if you live in Corby and Leighfield is your first choice school, you should put us as your No 1 choice on the Northants admissions form.

If you live in Northants you can apply here: https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/councilservices/children-families-education/schools-and-education/school-admissions/primary-school-places/Pages/how-to-apply-for-a-primary-school-place.aspx

If you live in Lincolnshire you can apply here: https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-admissions/apply-school-place/2?documentId=168&categoryId=20017
