Dear Stakeholders,
The Department for Education (DFE) are offering the opportunity for State Funded Primary Schools
to bid for a school-based nursery grant. As a result, we think it would be a fantastic opportunity for
Leighfield to be able to offer our local community an onsite preschool that is fully integrated with
our primary school.
The proposed pre-school would aim to offer an inclusive, nurturing environment for our youngest
learners, supporting their development and preparing them for the transition into primary
education. We believe that this initiative could bring significant benefits to children, families, and the
wider school community.
At this stage, we do not know if we will be granted any funding, but your views are important to us.

The consultation period will be open from today until Friday 5th December and your feedback will
be instrumental in helping us assess the demand and submit our application to the DFE.
